I'm Back Baby, I'm Back!

Okay, so I'm back. Nothing really to brag about. I made it back to work but 1/2 of the day, I don't think I knew where I was. The medicine says "May" cause drowsiness. Maybe is should have said "IT WILL" cause drowsiness.

Did anyone see the gas prices on TV. One station interviewed Rick's BBQ in Ethridge. They said that gas was at $2.75 and was heading to $3.34 by the end of the day. I am curious to see if it did. I saw that News 2 just reported that a station in Smyrna has gas at $3.55 (I assume that is the good stuff).

Did anyone see the report where several from WKRN was heading to New Orleans to look for Davis Nolan's elderly parents. There is some information on the Nashville Weather blog. They headed out with a motorhome, a pickup and a boat.

Have a great day. Maybe I will get back to finding interesting sites.

Blogging from Bed

Well, this is day 3 of the “Hey Ya’ll, I feel like CRAP” saga! If this keeps up for more than 5 days, I think I will buy the domain. (I already own, Hey Yall Watch This.com). I thought that it was just sinus but I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said that I had a virus but it was only really active for 2 days. He also said that since it was a virus, they couldn’t cure it, we could just treat the symptoms. $75 dollars later, I still feel like crap. I have been through 3 boxes of tissue and my nose is still running.

Speaking of running, I have been reading several “running blogs” lately (that sounds like the blogs themselves were running). I mean blogs like (running into a brick wall and 150mg of Happiness). I think to myself, that would be neat to start running. A little exercise, a little fresh air, I could enjoy the beautiful outdoors… Then I realize that I get out of breath just going up the stairs. Oh well, maybe something else will come along.

I guess I will end this, Card Sharks will be coming on soon on the game show network (reruns of course). Yesterday they gave away a Brand NEW 1987 Renault convertible.

See ya tomorrow and stay dry!

Aloha from Nashville

It’s finally Friday! But not only is it Friday, it is Hawaiian Shirt Friday. Boy there are a lot of them being worn today. I didn’t participate when I was first hired, but I do now and really enjoy it. It really is comfortable on these hot, sticky middle Tennessee days. BTW, mine has old cars on it, so I guess it’s more of a California shirt than Hawaiian, but who cares.

Nothing big planned for the weekend. I hope to some work around the house. It has been so hot this past week; I have just kept putting it off.

I played Partypoker again last night. I started with $2000 and about ½ hour later I have $41,000. Maybe I can find a way to cash this out for real money. I would even take Canadian money (well, I would consider it).

Not much to talk about today but a few Random Links.

I love this sign (be sure to read the last line)

Would this clash with my Hawaiian shirt?

And check out this Dental Webcam. I found the link on 150mgofhappiness (thanks Brent). I have friends that work in New York City and I am trying to get someone to go and get there teeth cleaned.

Cellphone shop.net I have bought some thing from them and I have been very satisfied with everything that I bought. They drop ship directly from oversea which is suppose to help keep the cost down. If you are interested, let me know and I will see if I can find a discount code. They send them to me pretty often.

Have a great weekend.

Andy's coming on

This will probably be shorter than most of my post. I have to make this quick because Andy Griffith is about to come on. Okay, for those that don't know it, I'm a HUGE Andy Griffith fan. I can definately hold my own at the trivia game (any one want to challenge me?) and I just love watching it everytime I get a chance. Sure I have most of the episodes on DVD but when it comes on TV I just can't help but watch it.

I hear everyone complaining about spam in their comments section. I am so jealous. I don't get any comments. I guess it's just me and my Mom that reads this (okay, I admits it, she doesn't even know that I have a blog). She might not even know what a blog is.

I hear the theme song being whistled and that's my queue to end this.

For some random links check out:

Have a great day!

Technology, will it every end?

My radar detector has quit working. Well, it actually works, it just doesn't have sound, which is kind of important if you want to hear it. Boy, I have a hard time driving with out this warning system.

I have spent most of my morning answering questions about Blackberries, Trios, Palms and the differences between them. Later I was trying to call a business in New York but every time it started to ring, the phone would just drop. I finally got through to a different number and let them know about the phone problem. Seems like their "high-tech" phone switch was having a "technical" problem.

This reminds me of a previous boss that I had. He had a PhD in Nuclear Physics and all kinds of other computer related certifications and letters after his name. Anyways, he comes into a meeting with his new Palm pilot and he had a big yellow post-it note on the outside. (sure, I realize that he was going to enter the name and number later but ITS A PALM PILOT, aren't they suppose to go on the INSIDE!). We laughed about for months.

I have been watching some specials that they are doing on the hybrid cars. Seems like there is a whole new group of "hot rodders". But instead of going faster, or being louder or the one with the biggest wheels (don't get me started on this one), these guys are trying to see who can get the best gas mileage. They are reengineering some of the hybrids buy adding additional battery packs. By charging their cars at home (for a grand total of 25 cents per charge), they are get 80+ miles per gallon instead of a measly 53 miles per gallon.
I just filled up my truck this morning and I am really interested in this. I would be the one to gut the inside like a race car. But instead of getting a couple more seconds out of the car, it would be a couple more mpg's. This is coming from a person that owns a vehicle that gets about 4 miles per gallon (okay, I don't drive except off-road, but it makes a good point about the cost of fuel). Luckily, I have a small truck for commuting.

MAYBE I need a wing to help with the mileage. Here are some ideas.

I am listing a few links that might be of interest. Sure, most of you have seen these before but here they are anyways.

Google Maps - I love the way you can just drag them around.

Switchboard - I especially love the reverse lookup (I can see who is selling thing in the local paper)

Nashville Zoo - It doesn't look like I am going to be able to get the zebra off of eBay.

AND, for you 4x4 people:

M715zone.com Wow, a convertible truck. Oh yeah, see previous post about gas prices.

Have a great day.

I'll see your bet and raise you $100,000

Okay, I'm really tired this morning. I have found partypoker.com and now I am hooked. I have been staying up late every night getting a few hands in. I know what you are thinking, they get you drawn in with the free version and then they get you to move over to the "real money" games. Well not me. Could I be tempted to bet a little online poker? Maybe, but I'm pretty tight. While I could consider myself a gambler (I never buy extended warranties, I usually just run liability insurance, I buy slightly used cars, you get the picture (I'm tight)) I like the real life drama of good poker. These clowns online don't care if they bet it all and loose it, they just get more "play money" and get back in. Last night, I started with $2000 and in 25 minutes I had over $100,000. (remember this is play money) I was on my last hand before I was going to quit and eat supper. I had a GREAT hand and I knew that there wasn't much that could beat it. I went all in and guess what, there was something better out there. I guess that's good because my desires to play with real money no longer exist.

As most of you know, I am from Nashville so I thought I would add some local links. Of course you have www.nashvilleistalking.com which is a part of News2.

I also found a neat webcam. This one is on the Lipscomb University campus. It's not as neat as it once was. When it first started, you could really see a big change. You would check it and see a big pile of dirt. You would get busy and when you looked at your computer a few minutes later, the dirt pile would be gone, and just a couple of trucks setting there. Pretty cool!

Check out Kim's website. She always have a tip of the day /site of the day. Some are not that great, but the ones that are are well worth bookmarking.

Oh, one more. Check out ebay auction 7176908813 . I need this to decorate the yard. Plus, think of the money I can save by not going to the zoo. NOTE: For the lazy people, I cannot guarantee how long this link will be active, SO DON"T WAIT TOO LONG! Again, that was only for the lazy people.

Have a great day, and we will see you tomorrow.

Monday! I'm glad it just comes once a week!

Wow you can tell it is Monday. The day that nothing works correctly but everyone decided over the weekend that they need it last week.
Finally a break in the heat. It's only low 90's instead on mid to upper 90's. I didn't think that it could get too hot to swim but it has. I went out and looked at the pool yesterday but decided that it would be more enjoyable to sit in the house where the AC was keeping it nice and cool.

I have found a couple of new websites that I thought were funny. I will include them below. Some I am sure you have seen while other were new to me.

Have a great day.

How long has it been?

Wow, it's been a while since I posted my last blog. I guess I just got busy. Maybe I can find ways to make life easier so I can dedicate more time to this BLOG! I don't like taking my time to blog, but I am jealous of those who do, so I guess I can't win.

It was a great weekend except for it being 246 degrees in the shade (that's what it felt like).

I was able to get out and play around a little with my Blazer. Check out: http://www.heyyallwatchthis.com for more pictures (btw, the white truck is forsale). It's still too hot to enjoy it right now, but fall will be just around the corner. Plus with all of the dry weather that Tennessee has been having, it's kind of hard to find some good mud to play in.

Anyways, Help me out with some time saving ideas.

I will start you out with one,

Lawnmower for the "smarter" people

Have a great week and keep those great ideas coming.
